A boardroom table needs to command the room, fit the layout perfectly, and hold up through years of daily meetings.

Agile Office Furniture supplies compact rectangular setups for tight meeting rooms to large-format configurations built for major corporate decisions. Our boardroom tables are available in a range of finishes including durable timber-look laminates and minimalist white and black depending on the product line.

For those furnishing a small meeting room on Wellington’s Terrace or specifying a full-length table for a Viaduct Harbour boardroom, we carry the exact fit for your team and floor plan.

Who This Range Is For

Business owners and office managers furnishing a dedicated boardroom or upgrading a table that's become too small for the team.

HR and procurement teams specifying boardroom tables as part of a wider commercial fit-out, where finish consistency and delivery reliability both matter.

Interior designers and architects sourcing tables for commercial fit-outs, where top quality, leg profile, and available finishes need to align with a broader design scheme.

Companies scaling up and replacing a meeting room table with a larger, more considered option as their headcount and client-facing needs have grown.

What Are Boardroom Tables?

Boardroom tables are large, purpose-built meeting tables designed to seat groups typically from six to twenty or more people.

They're distinguished from standard meeting tables by their size, finish quality, and the settings they're designed for: board meetings, executive briefings, client presentations, and senior leadership sessions.

Boardroom tables are built to handle regular, heavy use. The better models use thick laminate tops, heavy-duty steel frames or slab bases, and finishes that hold up under years of daily contact. Many also support cable management integration, which matters in boardrooms where video conferencing and power access are standard.

The shape of the table affects how the room functions. Rectangular tables are the most common and seat the most people per square metre. Boat-shaped tables improve sightlines around the table, which is useful for larger groups where everyone needs to see each other clearly.

Types of Boardroom Tables

Shot Table is a rectangular table with a contemporary leg design available from 1600x800mm in Silver Strata Naturale, Classic Oak Naturale, Snow Velvet, and Refined Oak Naturale.

Modella II Frame Table is a contemporary rectangular table with splayed legs and a clean frame profile. Available from 2000x1000mm in Snow Velvet, Classic Oak, Silver Strata, and Refined Oak finishes. This is a strong fit-out option where modern lines matter.

Team Boardroom Table is a straightforward rectangular table suited to mid-sized meeting rooms. Available from 1800x800mm in White, Silver, Black, Nordic Maple, and Atlantic Oak. Practical, stylish, and well-priced for offices that need a reliable, no-fuss option.

Cubit Boardroom Table features a boat-shaped design and is available in White, Silver, Black, Nordic Maple, and Atlantic Oak. This 2400x1200mm table seats up to 10 people.

Polo Boat Boardroom Table uses a boat shape, wider in the middle and tapered at the ends, which improves sightlines for everyone around the table. Available in White and Atlantic Oak. A good choice for video conferencing environments where eye contact and visibility across the table matter.

Polo Rectangle Boardroom Table offers the same Polo range in a standard rectangular format, available in White and Atlantic Oak. Suits boardrooms where a conventional table shape is preferred.

Shot Table Barrel Top takes the Shot Table base and adds a barrel-shaped top, wider at the centre, which improves sightlines in longer rooms. Available from 2400x1200mm in Silver Strata Naturale, Snow Velvet, Refined Oak Naturale, and Classic Oak Naturale.

Ligna Boardroom Table 3m is a 3-metre rectangular table suited to larger boardrooms. Available in White or Black. One of the longer fixed-size options in the range.

Boost Boardroom Table is a large-format table available at 3600x1800mm in Silver Strata, Classic Oak, and Snow Velvet. Suitable for significant board meetings where seating capacity and table presence both matter.

Boost Chamber Table is the largest table in the range at 4900x3000mm, suited to council chambers, large board meetings, or significant executive environments. Available in Silver Strata, Classic Oak, and Snow Velvet.

Maxim Boardroom Table is available from 2400mm in White Oak and Felix Walnut finishes, offering a more premium timber-look aesthetic for executive spaces.

Eiffel Conference Table features a distinctive leg profile and is available at 2400x1200mm in White, Autumn Oak, and Black. A practical mid-size option where design detail matters.

Why Boardroom Tables Matter

A boardroom table is the functional centre of every formal meeting your business holds, and it shapes how those meetings feel.

A table that's too small forces people to crowd in, which is uncomfortable and makes note-taking and laptop use difficult. A table that's too large for the room creates distance that works against the kind of focused, productive discussion a boardroom session requires.

Finish quality affects longevity. A laminate top on a commercial-grade boardroom table is built to resist scratching, marking, and the general wear of daily use far better than a decorative surface on a retail product. The same applies to the frame. Heavy-gauge steel frames and substantial slab bases keep a large table stable even under regular leaning and movement.

For client-facing businesses in Auckland's CBD or Wellington's financial district, the boardroom table is also the first thing a new client sits down at.

A Buying Guide: Choosing the Right Boardroom Table in NZ

Start With the Room

Measure the room before looking at table sizes. A standard guide is to allow at least 900mm of clearance between the table edge and the wall or any fixed furniture, so people can push their chairs back and move around comfortably. For a boardroom that also needs to function as a presentation space, allow more clearance at one end.

Once you have your clearance figured out, you'll know your maximum table dimensions. Work back from there.

Seating Capacity

As a rough guide, allow 600 to 700mm of table edge per person for comfortable seating. A 2400mm table comfortably seats eight to ten people depending on width. A 3600mm table seats twelve to fourteen. The Boost Chamber Table at 4900x3000mm is suited to much larger groups.

Boat-shaped tables, like the Polo Boat, seat slightly fewer people than a rectangular table of the same length, but improve sightlines across the table, which is a worthwhile trade for longer rooms or video-heavy meetings.

Shape

  • Rectangular tables maximise seating per metre and suit most boardrooms. They're the default for a reason.
  • Boat-shaped tables are wider in the middle and taper at the ends. This improves sightlines so that people at either end of the table can still see everyone else clearly, which matters more as tables get longer.

Finish and Aesthetic

The range covers two broad finish categories depending on product line. Contemporary white, black, and grey finishes (Snow Velvet, Silver Strata) suit modern, minimal fit-outs and photograph well for client spaces. Timber-look finishes (Classic Oak, Refined Oak, Nordic Maple, Atlantic Oak, Felix Walnut, White Oak) match warmer, more traditional boardroom aesthetics and work well with leather executive seating.

Confirm your finish choice against any existing furniture or flooring before ordering. Most finishes are available across multiple tables in the range, so matching across a larger fit-out is straightforward.

Cable Management and Power

If your boardroom runs regular video conferencing or presentations, cable management is worth specifying from the start rather than retrofitting later. Check individual product specifications if this is a requirement.

Assembly

Large boardroom tables require more involved assembly than standard office furniture and Agile recommends two people for larger models. A professional installation service is available if you'd prefer it handled for you.

Warranty

Most tables in this range carry commercial warranties of 5 to 15 years depending on the model. Check the individual product page for the specific warranty terms.

This improves sightlines so that everyone around the table can see each other clearly, which is particularly useful in longer boardrooms or rooms used regularly for video conferencing.
